DIY Rustic Mason Jar Wall Sconce Light – Cozy Home Decor on a Budget

There’s something magical about cozy lighting. Whether you’re decorating a hallway, bedroom, or entryway, soft ambient lights make your space feel warm and inviting. Today, I’m going to show you how to create a Rustic Mason Jar Wall Sconce Light using affordable materials.

What You’ll Need

1. Mason Jars with Handles (set of 2)

These are the stars of the show! They give that vintage vibe and hold the fairy lights.

 Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Prep the Wood

If you're using unfinished wood, you can stain or paint it to match your home’s aesthetic. Let it dry completely.

Step 2: Attach the Hook

Center the hook on the top third of the wooden plank and screw it in. Make sure it’s tight and can hold the weight of the jar.

Step 3: Add the Lights

Place the fairy lights inside each mason jar. If your lights have a battery pack, make sure it fits inside or can be hidden behind the wood.

Step 4: Hang the Jar

Loop the mason jar handle over the hook and adjust the lights as needed to get that “glow from within” effect.

Step 5: Mount to the Wall

Use your mounting kit to hang the plank securely to the wall. If you’re mounting onto drywall, use anchors to make sure it holds.

 Final Result

That’s it! You now have a gorgeous rustic light feature for your home. You can make two and place them on either side of a mirror or bed, or just make one as an accent piece.

Not only does this project cost a fraction of store-bought versions, but it also makes a great gift!
